Sally Coming Through the Rye

I learned this tune by ear from the Banjo Hangout forum.  I recommend that you work to develop your listening skills in this manner.  You will begin to hear melody patterns and modal scales that will help you to learn new tunes more easily. This is a modal melody comprised of the following notes: B, D, E, F#, A. This is B minor pentatonic.

You may want to learn more about this scale.  It is known as a Minor Pentatonic Scale.  This scale is very common in folk and rock music.  The related Major Pentatonic Scale is: D, E, F#, A, B.  This is D major pentatonic.
